- Managing evolving decommissioning exposure by building an economic model and using it in a partnership to reduce risk
- Running a JV team in Aberdeen and reducing operatingexpenditure for the 19 field portfolio by 20%, whilst developing internal commercial resource to manage the assets, which comprised 70% of country production for the company (c.20mboed).
- Congo and Cameroon commercial/JV management, including gas/LNG sales negotiations
- Obtaining negotiation mandates to improve commercial positions, initially for MOL UK, involving leading negotiations in Aberdeen
- Negotiating decommissioning security, initially for Maclure field, developing a JV DSA economic model for investigating key parameters
- Managed 70% of UK production; Delivered non-op assets 20% below budget; Managed CoVenturer relations for UK’s operated portfolio, with a team of four experienced professionals
- Led commercial input to renegotiation of the FPSO EPC contract in China for the key Western Isles Dana operated development
- Led commercial negotiations, including decommissioning agreements and FPSO contract extension, for the c$300m acquisition of ConocoPhillips’ interests in three North Sea fields
- Managed commercial negotiations for the Rochelle gas field development, including the sales contracts for gas and condensate, transportation agreements, and the Scott platform services, allocation, and tie-in agreements
- Negotiated the Clipper South gas development Transportation & Processing Agreement (TPA) - liaising with UK Government (DECC) - which unusually started with cost sharing.
- Seconded to Browse LNG development team in Western Australia to transfer commercial experience & assist project optimisation
- Developed Kuwait Operations Services Agreement (OSA), leading commercial input to 2003 bid, then development of the agreement; Negotiated Iran Increased Oil Recovery research co-operation agreement, the first upstream agreement signed in 5 years.
